Jesus Died For All
If you believe in what is written in the scriptures, then you would agree that Romans 6:23 simply states "For the reward of sin IS DEATH; but what God freely gives is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." This basically says that all of mankind has paid the debt. Every person on earth has a death sentence. We are all going to die. Looking at the above verse, it states that when we die, we are all sin free. The debt has been paid by our own death. One can also look at it as meaning that Jesus died for our sins therefore by his death we are now free from the judgment of sin.
Either way, in either scenario, we are rendered free from sin. So does this not cancel out all the beliefs of damnation and hell and so on that the preachers love to preach about when there isn't enough money in the collection plate? In many places in the bible, it refers to the fact that Jesus died for our sins so that all mankind can have everlasting life. Of course there is a condition, for what it's worth, one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for this salvation. But why would one want to do that when in fact we are already going to die anyway which leaves us free from sin. As soon as Adam and Eve were tossed out of the Garden of Eden, we then had a death sentence. God had to come up with a way to have people still focus on him. So he offers some kind of conditional salvation. It's not bad enough that he blames everyone for two people who screwed up but he want to condemn the whole world for those actions. So he comes up with a way for mankind to pay attention to him by giving a Jesus that offers salvation. He states that we need to repent from our sins, and believe on the Lord. But what is the point when as soon as we die, we are free from sin anyway.
